Winemaker Notes:
Tabor Home Iowa La Crosse is 100% La Crosse from our vineyards and each bottling is a single vintage making this an estate white wine from Tabor Home. La Crosse is one of several promising new hybrids of winter hardy grapes developed in Wisconsin. La Crosse has very distinctive flavors. We produce 500 cases annually. Iowa La Crosse is a dry white wine with aromas of apricots and peaches. Alcohol content is 11.8%. The yeast strain I use helps retain the stone fruit characters and helps develop a soft tannin mouth feel. There is complexity that I describe as nutty. Comments in the tasting room compare Iowa La Crosse to unoaked chardonnays.
