Winemaker Notes:
Our Wild Blackberry dessert wine is produced from 100% blackberries. The variety of blackberry we use is called marionberry; they are as large as your thumb, very juicy and an exceptional fruit to use for winemaking. The intense body and aromas are attained by starting the fermentation with whole blackberries. The blackberries are pressed carefully after two days of fermentation. Wild Blackberry is fermented to 16.7% alcohol to produce an extraordinary port-style wine. Wild Blackberry is designed to serve with desserts or as a dessert by itself and this is why we bottle this wine in 375 ml bottles. We receive 5 tons of whole blackberries to produce 800 gallons of Wild Blackberry annually.
